The shouse in Feb 09
I’ve started using Journler to record the building process of our shouse — a blend of shed and house. It’s a great tool that operates very much like a standard blogging platform with a handy list of categories and tags. It also links nicely with MarsEdit, an offline blogging tool.
Using MarsEdit to blog offline helps keep a record of all blog posts. It also provides that crucial time needed to edit posts correctly.I’ve found the best method is to upload posts as drafts so that formatting can be matched online prior to hitting that publish button.
So hopefully, all going well I’ll record what we’ve done each day with our shouse building project, and sometimes even post it to this blog. Building your own house might not exactly be journalism, but it certainly affects how and when I write. I may even attempt a modern Australian version of Walden. Before you laugh, you have to be a dreamer to be a writer … right?
